In episode 6, Farmers Guardian's head of livestock Angela Calvert visits Hawes Auction Mart and speaks to auctioneer Ian Atkinson, Bluefaced Leicester Sheep Breeders Association chair Lawrence Allison, vendor and mart director Tom Willoughby, and Derek Hall, chair of Native British Lamb 365, about the importance of hill breeds and their value to the rural economy.
We also witness a new breed record price being broken for a Bluefaced Leicester tup, which sold for £88,000.
