On the first day the championship went to E. Fairburn and Sons, Thornton Steward, with their pen going on to top the sale at £820/head to J. Morris, Yelvertoft, who also paid £490/head for another pen from the same home.

Second place went to Neil Marston, Cockermouth, whose pen sold for £670/head to J. Winter, Appleby, who also bought another pen from Messrs Marston at £500/head.
The fifth prize pen from J.C. Walker and Son, Dunsop Bridge, made £510/head to E.S. Bulman, Thornborough.
Also selling for £490/head was C.R. Metcalf, Barningham, to C. and T. Hewitt, Tatham, and Knock Hall Farm, Appleby, which went to J. and H. Tustian, Banbury.

The trophy for the best run of 100 or more Mule gimmer lambs on Monday was awarded to J.A. and R. Caton, Malham Moor.

On the second day the championship went to H.W. and G. White, Horton-in-Ribblesdale, whose pen sold for £550/head to J. Nunneley, Banbury, who also paid the day's top price of £560/head for the second prize pen from G. and H.R. Shields, Ravenstonedale.

A pen from J. and S.E. Bainbridge, Newsham, sold for £500/head to P.J. Elliot, Mungrisedale. Messrs Hewitt paid £480/head for the fifth prize pen from W.C. Porter and Son, Reeth, and £410/head for another pen from the same vendors. Messrs Porter also won the trophy for the best run of 100 or more Mule gimmer lambs on the second day.

The final consignment of the day on Tuesday came from James and Joyce Sunter, Downholme Manor, who were selling at Hawes for the final time before retiring. Their consignment sold to a top of £280, providing a fitting finish to many years of bringing their Mule gimmer lambs to Hawes.
