Heifer from Messrs Haltcliffe which sold for 拢16,000
听The record breaker was the winning British Blue cross heifer from Messrs Ridley, Haltcliffe. By Solway View Pogba, it was bought at the foot of its pedigree Limousin dam at Carlisle last June from Messrs Renton, Morpeth, and sold to Gordon Cameron, Argyll.
The second top price of 拢11,000 was for the second prize winning Limousin cross heifer, Black Pearl, a daughter of Hightown Jacko from John Smith Jackson, Hexham. Having been a winner at the Stars of the Future and North East Live in the autumn, it sold to Ian Snape, Redditch.

Mr Smith Jackson also another second prize winning Limousin cross heifer for 拢8,000.
Champion
The pre-sale show champion was a pure-bred Limousin heifer by Hightown Ron out of an Uptonley Livingthedream sired dam from Messrs Hardisty, Ennerdale. It sold for 拢10,000 to the judge, Blair Duffton, Aberdeenshire.
Two Limousin cross heifers from J. Robertson and Co, Pitlochry, and E.H. Pennie and Son, Montgomery, sold for 拢7,000 apiece.
The reserve champion, a Limousin cross heifer by Trueman Idol from David Jarman, Branthwaite, sold for 拢6,000.
The steer champion was a Limousin cross by Cappleside Soloman from Messrs Robertson which made 拢4,200 to Wilson Peters, Monzie.
The prize winning heifers averaged 拢51,53.04 and the steers 拢2,795 or 拢4222.23 overall with 13 cattle selling for more than 拢5000.
Outwith the show an entry of 719 10-12-month-old cattle averaged 拢2,219.03, up 拢516.86 on the same sale last year with heifers up 拢607.58 at 拢2,374.16 and bullocks up 拢431.88 at 拢2,072.49.
Messrs Hardisty had the leading consignor average, selling four to average 拢5,850 following by Mr Smith Jackson who sold six to average 拢5,233.33.
