It was the Salers and continental champion, Seawell Tabago, from Peter Donger, Towcester, which was the choice of judge Andy Fraser, Fife, for the inter-breed beef title at Bucks County Show.Ìý

The three-year-old son of Impeccable has been breed champion at the Great Yorkshire Show in 2025 and this year. Mr Fraser said his champion was a great example of the breed, which ‘owned' the ring.

Reserve overall and reserve continental was the Limousin champion, Brockhurst Upandcoming, from W.J. and M. Mash, Chesham. The April 2023-born daughter of Goldies Relish, which was inter-breed champion at Edenbridge and Oxted Show in 2025 and a winner at Hertfordshire County this year, was shown with its bull calf by Shaw Rover at foot and in-calf again to a home-bred bull.

The native championship went to Gupworthy Velvet Ultra, a home-bred two-year-old Beef Shorthorn heifer by Trainview Prince, from G. Woollatt, Chepstow, which was champion native at Tenbury Show and breed champion at Burwarton Show.

Dairy

In the dairy rings, the judge, Tom Saxby, Lancashire, awarded the inter-breed supreme to the Holstein champion, Egginson Zeber Tanya, a fourth-calver by Go-51AVÊÓƵZeber, from G.B. Sear and Sons, Eggington, which was calved six weeks ago and is giving 51kg daily.

Mr Saxby said the champion was a great example of a senior Holstein cow which had tremendous power and strength and walked well.

Barnowl Joel Vickie, the Jersey champion from Barnowl Jerseys, Northamptonshire, took reserve. The fourth-calver, by Barnowl Billy Joel, was inter-breed champion at Royal Norfolk and Ashby Shows earlier in the season.

Sheep

After standing reserve inter-breed sheep champion for the last two years, Jack Robb, Haddenham, went one better this year to claim the overall supreme with a Texel shearling ewe from his Padbury Hill flock. Bought from Bryn Robinson's Preenbank flock and by a Strawfrank ram, it was being shown for the first time.

The judge, Clive Roads, Worcestershire, said the Texel ‘handled like steel, was good on its legs and was full of breed character and style'.

Sam Clark, Kingston Blount, took the reserve inter-breed title with his Charollais champion, Dalby Dolcie Wolcie, a shearling ewe by Edstaston Catch Me If You Can, which had been bought at the Dalby reduction sale earlier in the year.
