The World Soil Day campaign is a UN-backed initiative which hopes to teach people about the relationship between soil and water - as the Soil Association points out, around 95 per cent of the food we eat every day relies on this relationship.

As part of celebrations this year, the body is reminding people of the importance of looking after the ground in the fight against climate change.

Posting on social media, the not-for-profit organisation said: "Show some love for soilÌýthis World Soil Day, and share your Worms Eye View to let the world know that looking to the ground is just as important as looking up to trees, and out to water as we fight climate change!
The solution is under our feet!"
