It has had a very successful show season so far, claiming reserve supreme at the Cheshire and Norfolk shows, and is heading to Edenbridge and Oxted next month. 听
Mr Giles only keeps five Durocs along with Middle Whites and Saddlebacks. 听
Reserve supreme was awarded to the British Saddleback champion from regular exhibiter David Perkins, Pembroke. 听
This was Gwyndy Lottie 24, a January 2020-born sow by Prestcombe Guardsman 12 and out of Gwyndy Lottie 22, which is part of his 12-sow herd. 听
The judge, Steve Loveless, Dorset, who keeps the largest herd of Large Whites in the UK, said: "It was a really enjoyable experience to judge the inter-breed. My champion walked exceptionally well on the best legs in the class. She was a brilliant example of the Duroc breed.听
"My reserve matched her in every way, but today she was a little sluggish and lacked alertness."听
