STIRLING BULL SALES: High of 13,500gns for Limousins

The reserve senior champion led the Limousin trade at 13,500gns, which finished with an average up £130 on the year at £4,730.34 for 59 animals sold, and a clearance rate of 81 per cent.Ìý

Leading the charge was Dyke Olympian, an April2018born bull consigned by J.R. MacGregor, Milton of Campsie, Glasgow.

A son of 12,000gns Goldies Lordoftherings which was purchased at Stirling in February 2017, Olympian is out of 15-year-old dam, Dyke Amazon. The buyers were J.A. Galloway, Biggar.

Newhouse Oriental, a Westhall Jammy son out of Newhouse Lazykay, took the reserve junior championship before making 10,000gns for R.M. Adam and Son, Forfar. The July-2018 born bull sold to Cloquhat Farms, Blairgowrie.

Next at 9,000gns was the overall and senior champion, April2018-born Dyke Outlaw, another from the MacGregor consignment. Sired by Netherhall Gilbert, which has sons to date averaging £7,000, and out of Dyke Jemma, it was knocked down to J.W. Kay and Co, Ayr.

Two more bulls also sold to 9,000gns. The second at this money was another Goldies Lordoftherings son from the same vendor, Dyke Ovation. May 2018-born and out of the Ryedale Paragon daughter, Dyke Viva, it sold to Messrs Renwick, Dumfries.

The third bull at 9,000gns was June2018-born Ringway Odeon from P.J. Henshall, Lockerbie. An AI son of the Irish-bred Elite Icecream, Odeon is out of Ringway Fallon, and was bought by Cobbleheugh Farms, Aberdeenshire.

Making 8,500gns was Goldies Juggler sired Goldies Orlando from Bruce Goldie, Dumfries. May-2018-born and out of Goldies Dalmation, it to Huntlyhill Farms, Lanark.

Selling to 8,200gns was another Westhall Jammy son from the Newhouse herd, Newhouse Ontop.

August2018born and out of Newhouse Lyn, it sold to Dunecht Estates, Aberdeenshire.

Overall reserve and junior champion, Burnbank Judge sired Spittalton Overload, made 8,000gns.

Consigned by Andrew Burnett, Blairdrummond, Overload is out of the Sympa daughter, Spittalton Harriet, and was bought by Croy Cunningham, Glasgow.

Another to make 8,000gns and selling in the three-way-split was Ampertaine Foreman sired Goldies Overture, also from Goldies, which sold to D.H. Amory, Blairgowrie, R. Macintosh, Glenfernate, and P. and T. Michie, Blairgowrie.
