New planning reforms to take over land labelled a 'threat' to British agriculture

Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner said the Planning and Infrastructure Bill introduced to Parliament on Tuesday (March 11) could see significant measures introduced, but what could it mean for the future of British agriculture?

Ms Rayner, who is also Housing Secretary, said she will ensure shovels can be put in the ground more quickly, without ‘unnecessary bureaucracy, to boost the economy, create tens of thousands more, build more houses and provide more clean energy infrastructure. Welsh farmer Delia Protheroe said: "What I believe is becoming clearer day by day is that Labour is doing everything they can to destroy farmers."
