Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary said Phelim O'Hara, of Totton in Hampshire, was charged with driving a motor vehicle with an alcohol level above the legal limit after a cow was hit by a vehicle.

A man has been charged after reportedly running over a cow while being over the legal limit.

New Forest Heart Police said Phelim O'Hara, of Totton in Hampshire, was charged on September 17 with driving a motor vehicle with an alcohol level above the legal limit after a cow was run over.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary said the charge follows reports of a collision between a vehicle and cow on Roger Penny Way, near Bramshaw, around 9pm on September 16.

Mr O'Hara has been bailed to appear at Southampton Magistrates' Court on November 12.
