On September 3, 1939, Great Britain declared war on Germany. A day in British history which will never be forgotten and a day which changed the life of one little girl from Sunderland.听
Just five years old when war broke out, Norma Earnshaw was evacuated to rural North Yorkshire where she discovered a love of farming.
Unbeknown to her at the time, this move would ultimately lead her to a life on the farm. A life she would not have been exposed to without the war.听
