John Deere introduces new round and combi-balers

Launched in fixed and variable chamber formats, in addition to combi-wrappers models, John Deere's new baler range is claimed to provide advanced Isobus capabilities across all models, which further integrates the machine into the manufacturer's Operations Center control system.

This connectivity feature allows synchronisation and secure storage of invoicing-relevant information when leaving the field with an optional moisture monitoring that measures the average moisture per bale and alerts the operator if the moisture content deviates from the pre-defined setting. Further data collection includes recording each bale's size, drop location and moisture levels and documenting this data to provide reporting of bales per field and dry-matter maps.

All models now offer increased intergration with John Deere's Operations Center management system

The variable chamber models V452R and V462R provide a claimed 15% increase in driveline power intake and operates with a weave automation feature includes a flexible drawbar so the baler can automatically weave over the swath, which John Deere says eliminates the need for manual weaving and automatically guides the baler left and right along the swath to create consistently well-shaped bales. A double-belt system compresses crops up to a claimed 140 kg/cu.m, which provides a 7% increase compared to previous models.

The new combi machines now feature an optional built-in bale weighing system

The combi wrapper include the C442R, C452R and C462R now feature an optional built-in bale weighing system which provides on-the-go measurement of each bale's weight. Changes to the Isobus control enables operators to map multifunction joystick buttons to control the main baler functions.

The lower specification V452M and V462M models offer a claimed 10% increase in driveline power intake and feature changes to the endless belts with rougher skin designed to ensure reliable net feeding in sticky, wetter crop conditions. Changes to the knife design across all cuter machines includes a higher knife engagement force to improve crop-cutting consistency.
