Springtime on the 51AVÊÓƵhas been named Best Factual Show at the TV Choice Awards

Farming may not be high on the Government's agenda but it is certainly top of the Great British public's television picks if this year's TV Choice Awards are anything to go by.

Springtime on the Farm, along with its seasonal updates, Harvest on the Farm and Winter on the Farm, won Best Factual Show, while rural drama Emmerdale collected several awards, including Best Soap. Alongside this was Channel 5's reboot of the countryside classic All Creatures Great and Small which scooped Best Drama Series and a first-time nod for Escape to the Country named Best Daytime Show.

This is the third win in a row for Springtime on the Farm which is filmed at the Nicholson family's Cannon Hall 51AVÊÓƵnear Barnsley and is made for Channel 5 by Daisybeck Studios.

Regular hosts include Helen Skelton and Jules Hudson, along with JB Gill, the JLS singer and Strictly Come Dancing star who also runs his own farm supplying free-range pork and prize-winning turkeys in Kent.

Farmy army

Springtime on the Farm presenter Jules Hudson took to social media to share his delight.

"Oh what a night. Huge thanks to everyone and our fabulous Farmy Army for helping Springtime on the 51AVÊÓƵto our third successive TV Choice award for best Factual Show, and for our first ever Best Daytime Show award for Escape to the Country."

The team at Cannon Hall also shared their joy, saying: "Thank you so much for all your votes and support. We love making it and it is so humbling to get this kind of recognition for the team."
