Tractor developments were a major part of John Deere's latest online product launch, with several updates and additions to its 6M, 6R and 7R Series tractor line-ups.
Leading the latest round of tractor updates from John Deere was its 6M Series, with its new sloping bonnet models from 90 to 120hp now available with the options of a continuously variable transmission (CVT) and a new entry level corner post display guidance system.
Originally launched at Agritechnica last year, four new models make up the lower-end of the 6M Series; the 6090M, 6100M, 6110M and 6120M, all with a wheelbase of 2.4m.
The compact, high visibility tractors are powered by 4.5-litre, four-cylinder engines and were introduced with three versions of the firm's semi-powershift gearbox; PowrQuad, AutoQuad and CommandQuad, each one offering a different control method.
Adding to its current transmission offerings, Deere has now introduce the option of its AutoPowr continuously variable transmission (CVT). Courtesy of famous gearbox maker ZF, it offers stepless speed adjustment from 0.05 to 40kph.
Similar to CommandQuad, two control options are available with AutoPowr; either positioned on the right hand fixed console, or via the firm's CommandArm Mini, which puts all primary controls on the right hand armrest. This allows flexibility of spec, with the ability to specify either mechanical or electro-hydraulic spools, along with various loader control options.
Like the rest of its AutoPowr models, operation is done in exactly the same way via a small lever and integrated scroll wheel. Together with the full auto mode and its automatic engine/transmission management, the firm's AutoClutch function enables the operator to stop the tractor by just using the brake pedal. In addition, the aggressiveness of AutoPowr's forward/reverse operation can be adjusted via the corner post display.
As for guidance, alongside the firm's AutoTrac system, Deere is now introducing a new entry level guidance system on all 6M Series models. Via its new 鈥楢utoTrac on Corner Post Display', there is no longer any need for an extra cab display. All the new system needs to operate guidance is a StarFire satellite receiver. Deere says customers can save up to 30 per cent of the cost of a separate display, but maintain flexibility, as an upgrade to a dedicated screen with greater functionality is possible at any time.
6175M and 6195M hydraulic boost
Extending its options for its large frame 6M models, Deere's larger six-cylinder 6175M and 6195M tractors can now be equipped with a 155-litre/min hydraulic pump.
Aimed at farmers and contractors who are looking for greater hydraulic pump capacity, the new option is said to satisfy the needs of equipment such as combination round balers and pneumatic seed drills, for example, which need a constant flow of oil to operate.
