A farmer has raised over 拢32,000 for the NHS, after being inspired to walk 91 laps around his home by an army veteran's fundraising efforts.
Rhythwyn Evans, a 91-year-old beef and sheep farmer from Lampeter, West Wales, marked his birthday by lapping Tan y Graig farm 91 times in one day (April 18).
Highlighting the 鈥榚xceptional' work of frontline staff, Mr Evans' son, Dai Charles Evans said: "My grandfather had seen what Captain Tom Moore had achieved at 100 years of age and he wanted to do something locally to show support for Hywel Dda, the local health board, which has cared for him all of his life."
The money raised will be donated to the Hywel Dda NHS Covid-19 appeal, which is organised by Hywel Dda health charities.

Appreciation
Speaking on behalf of his father, Mr Evans said: "Being an essential worker all his life, he felt compelled to set himself a personal challenge to show his appreciation for the efforts of NHS staff and social care workers.
"There has definitely been a real appetite amongst the community to get behind this local effort, as people are wanting to help out in any way they can during this strange time."
Mr Evans added he was incredibly 鈥榩roud' of his father for finishing the walk and urged members of the public to continue to support the NHS in any way they could.
