Africa has received its first shipment of grain from Ukraine since the Russian invasion began.
The MV Brave Commander has docked in Djibouti, carrying 23,000 tonnes of Ukrainian wheat bound for Ethiopia.
Ethiopia is facing several humanitarian challenges, including a prolonged drought and civil war in the northern Tigray region.
The drought affecting the Horn of Africa was expected to continue, with the war in Ukraine adding to the problems and food inflation soaring across the continent.
It will take about a week for the wheat to be bagged and taken by road to Ethiopia, according to the World Food Programme (WFP).
WFP has paid for this shipment with its reserves to support refugees and people displaced by conflict and drought starting to run low.
It had previously sourced three quarters of its food aid from Ukraine and Russia.
