You do not need to be a tractor enthusiast to recognise a John Deere with a SoundGard cab. Simon Henley takes a look at the development program which redefined tractor cab design.

The John Deere SoundGard body set the Q-cab benchmark so high that with the arguable exception of the Ford 700-Series flat-deck cab launched in 1977, it would take the rest of the world's tractor manufacturers...
